The Fowler’s Roost

Lodging on Cayuga Lake

Exploring more than a dozen award-winning wineries on the Cayuga Wine Trail. Bowfishing for carp, casting for bass, and trolling for lake trout and salmon. Hiking among waterfalls and gorges. Duck hunting, turkey huntingdeer hunting and more. If you love the American outdoors, then Cayuga Lake is the perfect vacation destination—and Fowler’s Roost Lodge gives you access to all of it.

Built like a two-story pole barn, our cozy lodge stands in the lakeside village of Union Springs, population 1,200. Stay with us and experience the best the Finger Lakes have to offer.

The Roost

When you step inside, you’ll find yourself surrounded by traditional outdoorsman’s decor: hunting and fishing trophies, and paintings of outdoor scenes.

You will have no shortage of entertainment between adventures. Our two billiards tables can get a four-person tournament going, and one of them can be repurposed as a poker table for six. We’re also always happy to swap hunting and fishing lies—er, totally unexaggerated stories around the fire.

If a long day in the field has left you feeling beat, then just kick back and relax. We have a pair of flat-screen TVs so you can always catch the game. Or, if you prefer, you can sit by the fire and read a good book.

We made this lodge to handle the dirt and damp of long days outdoors. Boot dryers and a coat rack made of hand-carved decoy heads will get the wet out between expeditions. Hit up the laundry room anytime to wash away mud and scent before your next deer hunt. And for fowlers, we even have a mud room with a long bench just to help you get in and out of your waders.

Finally, we offer free Wi-Fi. You can stay in touch with work if you want. For everyone else, we promise to tell your boss that the Internet was down the entire time you were here, and that some hacker must have been posting all of those awesome vacation photos on your Facebook account.

Sleeping Arrangements and Additional Accommodations

The Roost sleeps up to ten and is open 24/7. Those looking for a private getaway can stay in one of the two-person bedrooms, while as many as six can claim a bunk of their own in the open loft.

We have one full bath and one half bath. If you’re older or handicapped, don’t worry—we’ve included a walk-in shower to make bathing easy.

Open for Anyone

While we’re big on hunting and fishing, you don’t need a gun or a rod to stay here. You’re welcome to book the lodge for weddings, birthdays, business meetings, poker nights with your buddies or weekend getaways.
